Respiratory Therapy

Our Respiratory Care staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide patients at Myrtue Medical Center with all aspects of respiratory care, from ventilator management to breathing treatments.

Our therapists serve on the lifesaving response team that help individuals who have come to the emergency room with breathing difficulties as a result of injury or cardiac or respiratory arrest, as well as hospital patients who need CPR.

Myrtue Medical Center offers a “Pulmonary Conditioning Program”, which is a multi-disciplinary program that consist of structured and monitored physical conditioning and education designed to help participants with lung disease lead more active and enjoyable lives. Through exercise and education, participants can take control of their disease.

In-lab Sleep Study

Polysomnography, also called a sleep study, is a test used to diagnose sleep disorders. Polysomnography records your brain waves, the oxygen level in your blood, heart rate and breathing, as well as eye and leg movements during the study. These tests are completed at the hospital.

Pulmonary Function Tests

Pulmonary function tests (PFTs) are noninvasive tests that show how well the lungs are working. The tests measure lung volume, capacity, rates of flow, and gas exchange. This information can help your healthcare provider diagnose and decide the treatment of certain lung disorders.
