Medical oncologists specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of all types
of cancer and other benign tumors. They collaborate with primary care
physicians and other medical specialists. Myrtue Medical Center’s
Oncology and Hematology clinic is held on Thursdays each month. Oncologist
Sakeer Hussain, MD, from Heartland Oncology & Hematology in Council Bluffs, IA, is on-site
and holds telehealth appointments twice a month to consult with patients.
Our goal is to provide punctual and accurate medical treatment as prescribed
by a physician or provider. We also work with our patients’ insurance
companies to make sure treatments are covered or preauthorized correctly.
Infusion Center
Our Infusion Center provides chemotherapy/biotherapy so you don’t
have to travel far for compassionate, quality, personalized care.
Previously handled by the Med/Surg Department, outpatient infusions or
injections are now administered in our Infusion Center. We do treatments
for Cancer, Rheumatoid arthritis, Osteoporosis, and Crohn’s Disease.
Infusion patients will find a comfortable setting for treatment with reclining
chairs, large windows, and privacy. Medications are administered in a
pleasant atmosphere that encourages conversation, and our staff is always
willing to discuss any concerns you may have.
