Myrtue Mental Health is excited to share a new opportunity for mental health professionals to bring our innovative program Movement Therapy to their clinical practice! With the generous support of the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation, we are developing a continuing education program to equip therapists with training and curriculum to implement Movement Therapy in their work with clients and to use these tools for professional sustainability.
Our first Movement Therapy Training Retreat will be September 14 - 18, 2026. Contact us to learn more.
Movement Therapy is a 12-week group therapy program developed at Myrtue
Medical Center that helps clients learn to listen to their bodies, identify
stuck patterns of stress and trauma, and use movement, breath-work, sensory
engagement, and social connection to move toward healing. This program
provides a structured therapeutic curriculum that integrates multiple
evidence-based somatic approaches, including Polyvagal Theory, Internal
Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR),
Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Trauma-Informed Yoga.
The training retreat will provide comprehensive training on Movement Therapy for Adults and Movement Therapy for Families with the following elements:
The cost of the training retreat for this first cohort will be $960. The training fee will cover the training, daily lunch, materials, and follow-up consultation. We will share more information regarding registration and the training schedule soon.
