Postpartum Care

Myrtue's Birthing Center provides comprehensive care for both mother and baby during their stay with us. Your OB provider will complete daily visits with the delivering mother to ensure that their body is healing correctly after giving birth. In addition to this, one of Myrtue's trusted newborn providers, selected by the parents, will perform a daily check-in with the newborn baby and answer any questions you may have. This ensures that both mother and baby are receiving the necessary care and attention to recover and thrive. When the patients are discharged from the Birthing Center, they will be scheduled for follow-up appointments for postpartum and newborn care.

At the Birthing Center, patients can rest easy knowing that they will receive top-notch care from experienced providers and caring nurses. The facility is designed to provide a comfortable and secured environment for both mother and baby, with a focus on ensuring that they receive the support and education to be prepared for life at home.

Count the kicks

Count the Kicks is an organization whose goal is to educate expectant parents about the importance of tracking baby movements during pregnancy. Once you reach the third trimester, it is very important to start paying attention to the movements of your little one. Knowing what’s normal for your baby helps you notice when a possible change in their movements occur.

  1. Track your baby's movements with the FREE Count the Kicks app or download a Count the Kicks chart at countthekicks.org.
  2. Count kicks every day -- preferably at the same time.
  3. Time how long it takes your baby to get to 10 movements.
  4. After a few days, you will begin to see a pattern for your baby.
  5. Alert Myrtue’s Birthing Center or your maternity provider immediately if a change in movement occurs (this may be the earliest or only sign that your baby needs medical attention).
