Shelby Johnson, PA-C, Latest to Join Myrtue’s Behavioral Health

(Harlan) – As awareness and challenges grow related to mental health, the addition of Shelby Johnson, PA-C, to Myrtue’s Behavioral Health department has expanded support to the community with timely, high-quality care.

Shelby received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Dakota and then went on to receive her Masters in Physician Assistant studies from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. As a board-certified physician’s assistant, Shelby joins the team of Kris Gross and Patty Hildreth, both nurse practioners specializing in mental health, in the Behavioral Health Department. This team is trained to provide care management support for patients receiving behavioral health treatment, consultation services, and medication management.

“The need for mental health services is ever present, and Shelby is helping provide expanded mental health options to our community,” said Barry Jacobosen, Myrtue Medical Center’s CEO.

“Mental health is so important to our overall well-being,” said Johnson. “I am eager to help reduce the barriers to care and improve patient’s quality of life.”

Shelby and her husband, Garrett, enjoy camping and spending time outdoors with family and exploring the community.
