Grant Applications Now Being Accepted for Healthcare Education

The Endowment for Education is now accepting grant applications for healthcare education. The Lucille Petersen Endowment Fund offers these grants. The funds will be distributed to selected applicants seeking short- or long-term educational assistance to pursue healthcare occupations. The deadline to submit applications for the spring 2027 semester is November 30th.

The funds will be distributed as grants—loans that will be forgiven if the recipient is employed within a 20-mile radius of Harlan in his or her specialized healthcare occupation after completing the courses. If a recipient cannot fulfill the service terms under which the loan will be forgiven, the money is subject to a five percent interest rate and principal repayment.
