Pfizer Vaccine Approved for Children Ages 5-11

Myrtue Medical Center has received the Pediatric Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine authorized for children ages 5 to 11. A two dose series is recommended with the second dose administered three weeks later. The COVID-19 vaccine may also be administered along with any other necessary vaccine, such as a flu vaccine, on the same day.

Myrtue Medical Center will be offering a COVID-19 clinic for children ages 5 to 11 on the following dates at the Harlan Clinic, 1220 Chatburn Ave, Harlan:

  • Tuesday, November 16 from 5:00-7:30 pm
  • Thursday, November 18 from 5:00-7:30 pm
  • Monday, November 22 from 5:00 - 7:30 pm

Appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine are required and can be schedule at 712.755.4516. Patients are always encouraged to talk to their primary care provider about their questions and concerns regarding vaccines. If you have questions regarding the pediatric COVID-19 vaccine, you may call the care team phone nurse at 712.755.5130.

The required consent form and fact sheet is located on Myrtue’s website located at www.myrtuemedical.org. Please fill out this form before coming to the appointment.

Please note: After the vaccination, patients will need to be monitored for fifteen minutes.
