About Katie
Katie Sandquist joined the staff of Behavioral Health in 2018 as a mental health therapist, and she has been working as a helping professional since 2005. Following graduation from the University of Kansas with her Bachelor’s degree, she worked for 10 years in nonprofit management. After a decade in the field, Katie returned to graduate school and in 2018, she received her master’s degree in professional counseling from Liberty University and became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Iowa. Katie also is involved in community wellness efforts on behalf of Myrtue and serves at the Board President of the Shelby County Wellness Alliance.
Katie is available to provide presentations and trainings on a variety of topics related to mental health and wellness. She has been a frequent speaker in local and statewide settings, including the Iowa Mental Health Counselors Association Conference, the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative 5-2-1-0 Conference, Live Healthy Iowa webinar series, Thriving Families Alliance regional workshops, and many school, workplace, and community presentations.

Katie works with adolescents (14+) and adults, as well as with couples and families. She serves clients with a wide range of presenting concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
