About Sumit
Dr. Sumit Mukherjee knew from early in his life that he would one day become a doctor. As a young boy, he loved the idea of being able to heal people. As he grew older, his desire became his passion, and he wanted to make a positive impact on a mass scale. Determined to one day do his part to help populations of people, he decided he would become a physician in order to implement positive change in individuals and communities.
Dr. Mukherjee went on to attend medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He later completed his internship and residency at the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Additionally, he lent his services to patients with lung cancer at the MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas. Today, Dr. Mukherjee is a pulmonologist and critical care doctor at Methodist Physicians Clinic in Council Bluffs.
Dr. Mukherjee's passion to help people has never gone away, he is devoted to the care and well-being of every person. He strives to be a reliable source of information for patients and their families, answering any questions they have no matter how difficult. His mission is to ensure patients know they are not alone, and that he is right by their side from every difficult moment to every celebration.
In his free time, Dr. Mukherjee enjoys spending time with his family. As a father of two young children who recently learned to ride bikes, he often spends his weekends finding new bike trails to explore and making memories with his loved ones.
