About Denise
Denise joined the staff at Myrtue Mental Health Center in 2016 as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). She received her Bachelor's in Psychology and Human Resource Management from Buena Vista University and her Master’s in Human Services Mental Health Counseling from Bellevue University. She has been in the human services field since 2002 and in practice as a mental health counselor since 2009. Denise works with a broad range of clients with an emphasis on trauma-related work. She has received training in the following evidenced-based treatment protocols:

- SE – Somatic Experiencing and Somatic Therapy

Denise also leads Movement Therapy for Adults through the Mental Health Center. Movement Therapy is a group therapy service that focuses on strengthening the mind-body connection for healing and wholeness. Denise is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and has her 140-hour Trauma-Informed Yoga Certification.
