Myrtue Medical Center is proud to announce it has recently received two national recognitions, including the designation as a 2026 Top 20 Critical Access Hospital for Quality by the National Rural Health Association (NHRA), for the second year in a row. It is a unique distinction to be among the top 1 percent of the more than 1,300 critical access hospitals in the nation for quality.
Additionally, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has publicly reported patient survey data placing Myrtue Medical Center among eight Iowa hospitals earning a 5-star rating for patient experience. Hospitals receive a 5-star patient-survey rating from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), which measures patient experience across 10 key domains. The overall rating is a composite score of all 10 measures, with more stars indicating better patient experience and 5 stars being the highest rating.
“These recognitions reflect the dedication, compassion, and commitment of our staff and providers to deliver high-quality patient care and provide a meaningful patient experience,” said Kile Magner, CEO of Myrtue Medical Center. “We are extremely grateful for the confidence our patients place in our team every day, and we are honored to serve and care for our community.”
