Vickie Gillespie, RN, BSN

Director of Community Health at Myrtue Medical Center. This is a Medicare/Medicaid Certified Home Health Agency and Hospice Agency, and provides the Public Health Nursing for Shelby County.

 

Sally Burmeister, RNC, BSN

The Family Planning Coordinator of HCCMS, a 5 county Family Services Agency. Sally is also a member for the Shelby County AHAP (Alliance for Health Assessment and Planning). Sally can be contacted at 712-755-4300.

 

Rachel Birks, RN, Public Health Nurse

The Family Planning nurse for Shelby County Family Planning/Women’s Health Services which are provided monthly in a clinic staffed by Myrtue Medical Center-Harlan clinic practitioners. For these services, Rachel can be seen in the Department on Tuesdays 2-4 pm or reached at 712-755-4312. Rachel also coordinates the "Care for Yourself" Program, the WISE WOMAN Program, oversees Adult Immunizations and TB screening, and is in charge of Disease Investigation.


Calla Poldberg, RN, BSN

Oversees several Public Health programs. As Child Health Coordinator, she is responsible for the Child Health and Immunization Clinics which are held in the Home and Public Health/Hospice office at Myrtue Medical Center. Calla also oversees the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, the CaRE for Kids Program, Hawk-I, AHAP (Alliance for Health Assessment and Planning) and is the Disaster Bio-terrorism Coordinator for Public Health. Dianne Book, RN

The coordinator of the Tobacco Program. Dianne also routinely cares for Home Health and Hospice clients in their homes. She also works in the Immunization Clinic. Dianne can be contacted at 712-755-4292 or at the Department at 712-755-4308.

 

Diane Freml, RN

The Home Care Aide Supervisor. She oversees the scheduling of all Home Health Aide and Homemaker visits to clients in their homes. Diane also is a member of the Shelby County Case Management Program, which assists clients in receiving needed services. Linda Wigness, Office Manager

Completes all billing and patient accounts for the department and supervises a staff of 4 office assistants.  Linda’s phone is 712-755-4203.

 

Sonja Thraen, Office Assistant

Acts as department receptionist as well as coordinating the Lifeline program. She can be reached at 712-755-4308.

 

Debbie Mores, RN

The Assistant Director of Home and Public Health and the Hospice Coordinator. Debbie also routinely cares for Hospice clients in their homes.

 

Christy Wilwerding, RN

Works mainly with the Public Health side of the department. She helps with the Child Health, Immunization and Family Planning Clinics as well as the WIC and Lead Programs.

 

Debbie Copic and Barb Eslick are Office Assistants for the Department. They complete many job duties related to HCCMS Family Services Project. Debbie and Barb also work with the Lifeline Program.

 

Heather Muenchrath and Wendy Sanders are Office Assistants for the Department. They complete many job duties related to HCCMS Family Services Project.

 

Sue Daeges, RN, Staff Nurse

She routinely cares for Home Health and Hospice clients in their homes. They also work in the Immunization Clinic.

 

Melanie Larsen, RN, Staff Nurse

She routinely cares for Home Health and Hospice clients in their homes. She also works in the Immunization Clinic.

 

Sandy Thielen, RN, Staff Nurse

She routinely cares for Home Health and Hospice clients in their homes.

 

Karla Berndt, RNC

She is the Maternal Health Clinic Nurse as well as Home Health and Hospice Nurse. Karla can be reached at 712-755-4308.

 

Rhonda Anderson and Leah Schmidt, BSW are both Parent Educators with the Learning for Life Program. Leah is also Social Worker for the Hospice program.

 

Nadine Kenkel, RN

Nadine works as a Home Health Nurse and works in the Immunization Clinics. 

 

Cathy Jensen is the Hospice Support Coordinator. She also coordinates Grief Support Groups for the Hospice Department. Cathy can be reached at 712-755-4424.

 

Janelle Kenkel and Louree Petersen are both Home Care Aides for the Home and Public Health/Hospice Office. They care for our clients in their homes.

 

Bev Bruck and Barb Leinen are both Home Care Aides for the Home and Public Health/Hospice Office.  They care for our clients in their homes.

 

The volunteer program is an important part of our Hospice team. They provide support and companionship for patients and families, do respite care and they do personal or business errands for the family. They may help with general office work. All volunteers working with patients and families are required to attend a scheduled training program.
