RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST

Radiology Department

On-call position. Days/shifts will vary according to department staffing needs.  Responsible for diagnostic x-rays and CT exams.  CT experience preferred, but will train.  Must be ARRT registered.  Iowa licensed radiologic technologist required.

 

CERTIFIED NURSE AIDE (CNA)

Medical/Surgical Department

Full-time position (36 hours per week).  Works every other weekend 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.  Performs a variety of patient care activities and related health care functions under the direct supervision of an RN or LPN.  Requires completion of an approved 75-hour Nursing Assistant course and/or successful completion of Nursing Assistant certification written skills test or completion of one year of an approved practical nurse program or professional nurse program. 

 

SURGICAL NURSE (CMA or LPN)

Rural Health Clinic-Harlan Site

Full-time position (36 hours per week).  Works 7:30 am to 5:30 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Assures quality patient care.  Demonstrates knowledge of clinic policies and procedures, nursing philosophy and QI related to clinic.  Obtains medical histories of patients and triages necessity and placement of patients seen by surgeon. Completes pre-certification and scheduling responsibilities for surgical patients.  Provides patient education.  Must be a graduate of accredited school of nursing (LPN or CMA program) and possess current license/certification.  CPR required or must obtain CPR certification during first three months of employment.

 

MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST

Laboratory Department

Full-time position (40 hours per week).  Works 9:00 am to 7:30 pm (four 10-hour shifts). Performs various tests.  Receives or obtains a specimen for analysis and prepares tissues for pathology.  Records and charts laboratory test results.  Responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting of results.  Rotates holidays and overnight shifts. No scheduled weekend coverage (rotation, as needed). Must be a graduate of an accredited medical technology school. Must be registered by the ASCP, NCA, HHS or equivalent as an MT or MLT. 

 

HOUSEKEEPER

Housekeeping Department

Part-time position.  Works the evening shift 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm. Performs overall cleaning of patient rooms, work areas and public areas according to standards of the hospital.  Assists with laundry, as needed.  Shifts and working hours may vary depending on needs of the Medical Center.  May be required to work weekends and holidays.

 

CERTIFIED NURSE AIDE

Emergency Department

One on-call position. Fills in for vacations and commits to work every third weekend 11:00 am to 11:00 pm and every third Friday 11:00 am to 11:00 pm.  CNA performs patient care duties under the direction of emergency department nurse.  Other responsibilities may include the following:  secretarial, preparing patient records, answering phones, making copies, emergency department cleaning, monitoring outdates, performing EKGs, and ordering and maintaining supplies.  Computer skills required.  Excellent customer service skills required.  Requires completion of an approved 75-hour Nursing Assistant Course and/or successful completion of Nursing Assistant Certification written skills tests or completion of one year of an approved practical nurse program or professional nurse program.  Good standing with the Iowa Nurse Aide Registry required.

 

REGISTERED NURSE

Medical/Surgical Department

Full-time position. Works 11:00 am to 11:00 pm. Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care. Directs and provides patient/family teaching.  Provides leadership when working with team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice.  Must be licensed in the state of Iowa.  BLS certification required.  Would consider hiring as a part-time position. 

 

DIRECTOR OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

Licensed Independent Social Worker OR
Licensed Mental Health Counselor OR
Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist

Full-time position.  Provides clinical supervision and operational management of the Behavioral Health Department and will provide psychotherapy/counseling part-time.  SIGN ON BONUS is being offered.  Must be licensed or license eligible in the state of Iowa as an LISW.   

 

LICENSED INDEPENDENT SOCIAL WORKER

Behavioral Health Department

Full-time position. Works 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday AND 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Tuesday.  Provides therapy for children, adolescents, and adults.  Must be licensed or license eligible in the State of Iowa as an LISW. 

 

SPANISH INTERPRETERS

On-call position. Works as needed and as available.  Provides English to Spanish and Spanish to English interpretation services, as well as translation services as needed, to non-English speaking, Spanish speaking public served by Myrtue Medical Center.  Spanish interpretation/translation experience preferred.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing.  Required knowledge of medical terms in English and Spanish required. 

 

REGISTERED NURSE

Medical/Surgical Department

15% Night Commitment Bonus

Full-time position. Works 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.  Works every third weekend.  Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care.  Directs and provides patient/family teaching.  Provides leadership when working with team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice.  Eligible for a 15% night commitment differential + night shift differential.  Must be licensed in the State of Iowa. BLS certification required.  

 

TRANSCRIPTIONIST

Medical Records Department

Full-time position (40 hours per week). Works Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.  Position requires 2 years experience in medical transcription with a thorough knowledge of word processing, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.  Primary responsibilities include transcription of all hospital, outpatient clinic and rural health clinic dictation.  Candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Excellent benefits and possible opportunity to work from home.
