Department of Health Information Services

The mission of the Department of Health Information Services (medical records) is to be an advocate for excellence in the documentation and coding of care rendered to patients. We strive to assure that individuals’ health information is properly protected while allowing the flow of health information needed to provide and promote high quality health care at Myrtue Medical Center. We seek to cooperate and to promote team spirit within the Medical Center. The main responsibilities within our department are as follows:

The department is responsible for overseeing all documentation of care given to patients at Myrtue Medical Center and provides support for overseeing all documentation of care given to other health personnel in documentation and coding issues. We also provide leadership and education in promoting the confidentiality and security of protected health information.
