Medical Information Services

The mission of the Department of Medical Information Services is to be an advocate for excellence in the documentation and coding of care rendered to patients. We strive to assure that individuals' health information is properly protected while allowing the flow of health information needed to provide and promote high quality health care at Myrtue Medical Center. We seek to cooperate and to promote team spirit within the Medical Center. The main responsibilities within our department are as follows:

• Cindy Suntken - Lead Transcriptionist
• Cathie Sondag - Transcriptionist
• Kelly Stone - Transcriptionist
• Kris Maxwell - Inpatient record analysis, birth certificates, advanced directives filing, physician record completion, record scanning
• Michelle Ross - Retrieval and filing of records, physician record completion
• Gloria Kenkel - Outpatient coder, reference lab record analysis, release of information clerk, transcriptionist
• Connie Kienast - Outpatient secretary, record analysis, birth certificates

 

The department is responsible for overseeing all documentation of care given to patients at Myrtue Medical Center and provides support and guidance to physicians and other health personnel in documentation and coding issues. We also provide leadership and education in promoting the confidentiality and security of protected health information.
